ode to having my own apartment

oh, so it may be quiet at times. and it may seem lonely.
but, today is a great day to live alone. as no one cares that my ensemble consists of striped knee socks, short short boy shorts, and a flannel shirt.
topped off with just a hint of crusted zit cream.
it's so pretty to be a girl!

night people are nice

i can't sleep. plus, i think i have a headache? i never get them so i am not really positive.

i'm smiling though, because i honestly can't tell if my neighbor is vacuuming or mixing drinks in a blender...

a day in the life of a raisin

i wonder if you get amnesia, do they take away your degrees earned at educational institutions?
Not that I'm expecting amnesia, I'm just wondering if I should be concerned.
Oh, or your license? i guess there would have to be an amnesia level test to see how much you backtracked. i guess that wouldn't be much fun.
but i do know one damn thing...there is no way i'm paying these school loans if I get amnesia and can't remember how i spent this money!

where was i all day?

ok, i am so deserving of a break right now.
i have 3 papers open (none are under 15 pages in length!) in word & 1 powerpoint presentation open. this is completely ridiculous. all are due next week. and all with lengthy presentations. where are those pilgrims now? i could really use a few extra hands around here...
and what the hell took over alanis morrissette's existence! i sorta forgot about her disappearing, until i just saw her on some recent re-run of an interview. she (gasp!) doesn't hate men? when did this happen. u outta know, cuz i sure don't. :)
actually, i think avril levigne engulfed alanis' spirit and then taught it how to make really smoky eyes. i will never ever ever possess the skills to tackle that look...well, not without losing an eye or two...

you've got mail!

ok, so i've got some weird coincidences going on...
finally checked my mail last nite (1st time all week). for some reason, i received an info packet on the University of Miami, specifically on their MBA program. I never requested this, but it thinks I did. and how odd that it be so relative to my current education status. so i start thinking...who the hell is in Miami that i would know? I come up with no one, but i dated a guy in high school who was from near there (somewhere in FL!) originally. so then my mind wandered to the Ying-Yang Twins singing "BOOM. It's ON" b/c the 1st word in the song is an extended phrasing of the word MIAMI...

i went to bed soon after and had some weird dreams. i dreamt i had fish in my tummy! damn sushi experience. then i dreamt i kissed a guy from high school in front of the guy i'm sort of hanging out with now. needless to say, they both got mad at me and i woke up soon!

Then, even more weird, my mom and I talked today, and out of nowhere she asks if I had kept in contact with the guy from FL since we saw each other in August! what a freaking coincidence!
so i said not really, and didn't bother telling her he seems to be an ass now (or maybe just to me!)
oh, and gobble, gobble.

the surrEEL life...

ta-da! not only did i brave the sushi yesterday, but i even entertained the eel! the eel was cooked though & had a sauce. and, please forgive me, but it was sorta like a weird chicken flavor!?
It was like the fine dining version of fear factor. though, i did not touch the fish eggs... no way, no how.
i even tried fish raw that I've never even had cooked! salmon, tuna, and something else that was red...
hope i didn't embarrass anyone, as i made them request a knife & then cut the servings into 1/4 size pieces.
overall, i had rice dipped in soy sauce with a little sushi on the bite. so basically it tasted like rice to me...well, rice with a soft, sorta slimy texture. i had to not think about it. cuz when i think about it later, i feel weird...all in the mind i hope. but what a feat for a recent vegan-turned-normal-eater!?
and in other news, i need to think of 3 items under $25 for my "wish list" at one of my jobs. but really there's no point, b/c people give whatever they've got laying around the house or a previous gift to them that they weren't quite fond of. i should know, i try to do the same thing!

how delicious are the fishes?

I'll have to get back to you on that. It seems some co-workers have decided on sushi for the going-away lunch for someone. Maybe if i shut my eyes and pretend they are not RAW! bleh...
guess there's a first time for everything.
And, a great big ginormous (compliments of ELF) thanks to those who have or are going to participate in yesterday's survey post.

i know u wanna help me out today!

If you have time, please take our survey. and please forward to others!! pretty pretty please ( iwillnotbeg iwillnotbeg....) :) THANKS!

reward me, I donate

Since when are charity givers eligible for prizes?! what happened to that "warm, fuzzy feeling" (no, not that one)?! The one you get from helping. To inspire the students on my campus to donate to the homeless, administration is offering (TA-DA!) Starbuck's gift certificates!? Yep, it is true. They even have rankings! The individual who donates the most gets a (obviously well-deserved) $10 magic coffee expense card. What the hell!? Shouldn't they take this 10$ and help somebody that needs the help!? There's even a raffle for donators! i don't want to even dwell on what this says about our society...
well, that's my 2 cents, and i know it's not worth a 10$ coffee card...

Mr. Blog + Eat my posts=time out for MR. Blog

My stupid blog decided it would eat a couple of my posts. therefore, it is sitting in the corner in solitary confinement until it can prove stable again.
my apologies if there are some double idea posts or maybe i have no new posts at all!
damn technology.
and all because mr. blog doesn't want me to continue my "Adventures in the Library" series. how irrationally absurd, and perhaps he's a little jealous...

angels

One more end to another day
I do not stray
I scream silent
The only quiet
i know
redeems itself in tragedy
tragically unaware of feats yet to come
so, populations worship the blood
from the (almost) mythical creation above
but I feel no love
all I've done seems nothing,
fills nothing in my mind-
overflowed-
spacious at a glance, yet consumed
by chance
by conscious
by these bloodied hands.

eternity

death comes in strange ways
yet it approaches me slowly
cautiously carefully
Pity the girl
who fears death
afraid to die
Pity the girl
who cuts her own flesh
with her own bloody knife
Do not pity me
I beckon death
to save me from this fulfilled life
On the brinks of forever
a stranger
waits for you
A stranger
waits for me
This shall be my destiny
Those that curse are too often damned
as I beg death to hold my hand
He strides slowly
across the room to me,
wondering if I am ready
as I nod willingly
Holy upon Holy with Grace unto me
an amateur among spirits
yet
this is my eternity

i am still me

just in case you were wondering, i so still have my crazy ass luck. life decided to remind me agian. washed & vacuumed my car on friday (i needed 2 for a while).
no sign of rain. no sign of rain.
then...PA-DOW!
stormed all saturday nite. i gotta luv it.
yesterday turned out to be a fun, interesting day after all.
ahhh, turn in later for the next episode of "mixing business with pleasure" or "how stupid can i be?"
thanks, rocky! say hi to bullwinkle for me!

simply put

if i say i can't do something, it's probably because i don't want to.
therefore, i cannot possibly finish all this work on time

and can someone please explain why i have to toughen up a guy?! shouldn't it be the other way around...

oops...i'm doing it again...

my blog seems to go on unintentional hiatuses quite often in recent times. good thing i haven;t accumulated enough of a fan base to care just yet!
and i think i found another heart i could break. this is definitely not a good thing. i am in the mood for fun right now.
but that mood is conspiring against me, or so it seems...

could it be too soon?

i'm a little too sporadic a little too often. i almost got a noise violation in my complex this weekend, so i shut teh door and decide it's time for a house.
so then i think some more and decide i can't mow grass so i want a condo. i also wrote 2 three-page papers in a matter of less than an hour last nite, at work nonetheless. that cannot possibly be a good thing...

oops...

i feel bad that I didn't give a shout out to circuit city as well. thanks for hooking me up and especially for contacting me & letting me know there's a rebate!!
more good news...the rebate is a gift card...so more stuff to purchase. 2day is a fun day...but saturday should be the fun"est" (or maybe sunday...)

YAY!

my system finally arrived after just a few days of tracking it intently across the state! so really that's where all of my time since last nite was spent. still, i am concerned that i can only operate "open/close", "stop", & "play". hopefully, this improves...
i luv ups. they are so nice. and they havn't lost my mail yet. i'm testing them again with my kohl's order (tracking says it'll be here on monday...and i so wanna believe them).
t-mobile update anyone? sure, i picked up "exoskeleton numero dos" this morning. no time to perform the transfer just yet, but (fingers crossed) hopefully this operation goes successfully...

entertainment system (aka fancy cd player) in route

it's almost 30 pounds & it's out for delivery! Yay for UPS tracking technology!
SHIT! it's out for delivery...and I'm at work...
oh please, oh please, let my crazy lady neighbor sign for my package!
oh please? oh please!

why I'm your type...

yep, sad but very true. i have this personality where i can get along with anyone. i won't even be trying to relate to you either! it's just how i am.
how silly.
happened once again...out w/ car-guy most of saturday nite. it was nice to get out though, even if it did consist of awkward moments of "realization". it was nice, but that was probably the direct opposite of something you should do with someone u have to spend the next 2 years of your graduate career with!
This must be exactly how i get hooked into more-than-a-year-long relationships that end soon after some kind of "love" reference. (as my mom refers to as the "kiss of death" in my world...). c'mon, it's supposed to be guys who don't like to commit...where are they at!
i think my mom is right about one thing, though. I DO need to have my heart broken. maybe just once. that way i will know.

oh such drama, so on to better things! i got bored & found a home theater system on circuitcity.com. my new toy should b here soon. yay! It all started when a simple girl realized, "yeah, i really do need a cd player in my apartment," as hers had previously broken. so what if her tv is shit!

cookies & chocolate milk?

almost forgot to write about my dream, as they're always so wonderful and fulfilling! yeah, whatever.
so last nite, i dreamt about this guy in my class i'm sorta eyeing. in my dream, he was talking to a friend and said, "yeah, she's kinda cool. too bad i don't date white chicks."
what!? gasp!?
he doesn't date white chicks!? I never considered this aspect...
oh well, now time for some experimentation to get to the bottom of this. I need to find out if he is down (to get down...oh yeah) with the fairer skin.
maybe i'll offer him some oreos at our next study session to see his reaction. of course, i'll have to take the tops of all the cookies so that he doesn't think i'm looking for a little 3-way action with one of his friends...
oh such a dilemma. wonder if he at least knows someone in the dallas/fort worth area...and maybe they like 2/3 oreo cookies...

and if you can't beat em

join them.
i should apply for a job with t-mobile. i want to be the person responsible for composing their wonderful computer-generated responses. as a result of this immaculate system, i should now be recieving my next visit from the cell phone fairy in the next 7-10 business days. too bad my fairy's always cracked out.
and it looks like i'll be spending christmas in dallas/fort worth. too bad i don't know anyone there...
i received that wonderful voicemail from travelocity last nite..."please check your online itinerary, as your plans have been changed". yep, they sure had changed. instead of a 2 hour layover in DFW, i am now spending the day there. oh, how i love my life!

if and only if

if a tree falls in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere, does it make a sound?
if by tree you mean my shampoo bottle. and if by woods in the midst of nowhere you mean my shower, then yes there certainly is a sound. a sound that makes your looney neighbor think you're home and ignoring her...
